During certain times of the day, the traffic backup at the I-20 Aledo 1187 exit has become a problem. Here are a couple of alternate routes which may make your drive a little easier.
Alternate Directions from South Arlington, South Fort Worth and Benbrook areas:
Head West on I-20. Pass Loop 820 split
Exit Markham Ranch Road (it is the next exit after the exit for 2871).
Turn Left (South) on Markham Ranch Road
At 1 mile, Turn right at Stop Sign. You will be following the train tracks for a while.
After another 1.7 miles, you will cross over the railroad tracks and will no longer be following the tracks as you proceed.
After another 2.3 miles you will see a house on a hill with a pond in front. The sign on the gate says Coles Hilltop Acres.
At the top of the hill you will see a Stop Sign about 1/10th of a mile ahead of you.
Turn Right at that Stop Sign.
You will pass a graveyard on your left in 2.2 miles
Travel 1.1 miles from the graveyard. You will see a school on your left and signs for FM 5 and 1187. Turn right onto 1187.
After Ĺ mile, you will see Vandergriff School on your left and a Shell station on your right. The road will curve around to your left shortly after you pass the school. Turn left onto Maverick. The Parsonís Table is on your left. If you get to the train tracks and a second Shell station, youíve gone too far on 1187 and have missed Maverick Street.
The building is the second on the right on Maverick Street.
Total travel time from Markham Exit to office: 13 minutes
Total miles: 7.8 miles
If you are coming West on I-30 which merges with I-20 just before the Aledo exit, you can avoid the backup at the Aledo exit on I-20 by exiting at Linkcrest. Turn left under the overpass and proceed West on the Southern I-20 access road until you come to 1187. Turn Left and proceed as you would normally to the office.
